Dr. Jane is a registered psychologist with specializations in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. The focus of her practice is first responder trauma which includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of PTSD, sanctuary trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, and other related conditions. Dr. Jane received her Doctorate in Biopsychology at the University of Waterloo, and completed her residency in Clinical Neuropsychology at McMaster University. She has held a number of clinical staff positions in acute, rehabilitation and continuing care hospitals and was a founding partner of Function First Neurorehabilitation and Storrie, Velikonja and Associates (SVA). She helped to develop the Organizational Wellness Unit for Halton Regional Police Service and served as their first in-house psychologist. After 30 years with SVA, Dr. Jane decided to focus on her patient work rather than management and returned to solo practice. She continues to consult to first responder organizations, correctional services, the military, hospital-based inpatient and residential programs, and disability management agencies. Dr. Jane is a former President of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA), the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment (CAPDA) and the Hamilton Medical-Legal Society. In 2019 she retired as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University after 25 years. She has been awarded Diplomate Emeritus status with the American Board of Disability Analysts (ABDA).

George is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a specialized focus on the mental health of first responders. A retired firefighter with nearly 20 years of operational experience, he brings both lived insight and clinical expertise to his work in psychotherapy. George holds a Master of Science in Psychotherapy from McMaster University and provides trauma-informed and evidence-based care to individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), operational stress injuries, mood disorders, addictions and related difficulties. His therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). During his firefighting career, George chaired his service’s Wellness and Fitness Initiative, developing peer support and behavioural health programs. He has completed extensive professional development through the International Association of Firefighters in suicide prevention, anger management and recovery-focused interventions. With a deep understanding of the culture and demands of frontline work, George is committed to helping first responders and their families navigate the impacts of trauma, strengthen psychological flexibility and reconnect with their core values.
